Nemours Children's Health Delaware Valley Site Principal Investigator
Rod C. Scott, MBChB, PhD, is Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the Sidney Kimmel School of Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University, Division Chief of Neurology at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and Professor of Biomedical Engineering / Psychological and Brain Sciences at University of Delaware. Dr. Scott received his MBChB from the University of Zimbabwe and completed his residency in pediatric neurology at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London, UK. He remained at GOSH until 2010 when he moved to Dartmouth Medical School and then to University of Vermont where he was Vice-Chair for Research in Neurological Sciences until moving to Nemours in 2021. Dr. Scott has served on multiple NIH and DoD study sections. He has been an effective mentor to multiple basic scientists (biologists, computational scientists) as well as clinician scientists. His research in cognitive and behavioral abnormalities associated with childhood epilepsy has been funded by the Wellcome Trust, NIH, DoD and Swank Foundation.
